inspectAR 2.7.0 brings an enhancement to our component search engine. We are now leveraging Cadence’s unified component search engine. This is the first step in a much larger journey to bring component information into your lab with the same excellence as a design tool. Searching for component information can be a significant time sink, especially during debug workflows. Unified part search has the same functionality as our existing part search engine. You are no longer required to link your Digi-Key account to inspectAR to get part searching functionality; this is available to all part search users regardless of whether you use Digi-Key.

Searching for component information will give you both a data sheet as well as parametric data. PDF datasheets are natively viewable inside inspectAR and can be incorporated alongside your overlays or inside of a mockup.

You can open up a datasheet directly alongside a component, and view the pinout as-designed (custom net names and pin mapping will appear) all with the real-world PCB in view.
You can then mark up this image with instructions for another individual or documentation purposes.
By combining your markup with a save state, any other inspectAR team member can get brought up on your workflow instantly.

What’s even better is that we have combined markups with our file uploading feature, allowing you to attach markups and other drawings to any net or component on the board. There they will be available to any user who clicks on that part. Our 2.8 release will bring many more improvements – stay tuned!!
